I call my children beloved

I'm joining another link up today, Five Minute Fridays over at Tales From a Gypsy Mama.
Rules: Write for 5 minutes flat with no critiquing or self editing about the topic.
Today's topic: Beloved

Here we go:

Beloved. That one word holds so much meaning. I'm beloved by Keven, my husband, I'm beloved by my kids, Abbey and Micah, and I'm beloved by my Beloved Jesus.

Through each of those relationships Jesus has taught me so much about Himself and about His true love for me, a love that is pure and holy.

Through my husband He has taught me what it means to love through thick and thin, good days and bad, in sickness and in health, while rich or poor, through each thing we face together.

Through my kids I've seen what unconditional love might just look like. When they were babies, and sometimes even still today, when I look at them they just smile, with pure true love. It doesn't matter if I've had a bad day or if things haven't gone the way I wanted all I need to do is smile at them and their world is just a little brighter.

However on the flipside my love for them is the same unconditional love. Even if Micah has bit his sister for the umpteenth time or Abbey has spilled her water again, even if they are yelling and picking on each other, even if they are tired or grumpy or sick or upset. It doesn't matter, my love for them is not going to change. They are both my beloved.

When they are grumpy and tired they are my beloved. When they are happy and glad they are my beloved. When they are clingy and need comforted they are my beloved. When they are sick and need extra care they are my beloved. When they are excited and just want to dance they are my beloved.

I think Jesus thinks the same about me. And about you too.

  1. This made me smile a dozen times. :) It so reminded me of the way my daughter looks at me...complete love, even if we've had a disastrous morning of failed-potty-training. Or how, five seconds after a horrible temper tantrum resulting in a time out, I can't wait to hug her and let her know she is so loved. Beautiful post...thank you for your words today! Blessings!
