Today's topic: Comfort.
Ok, ready, set, go:
Comfort. One of the things that brings me the most comfort is a blanket. Each Christmas my Uncle gives all of us a "Couch Potato" for a Christmas gift. It's a big bin filled with all kinds of comfortable itesms like popcorn, hot coccoa, our favorite chocolate candy, etc. But our favorite is always the new big comfy blanket. Every Christmas that blanket becomes my new favorite for the upcoming year.
Comfortable. This word reminds me of pj's and that new comfy blanket cuddled up on the couch with my hubby or kids watching a movie. You add popcorn and hot cocca in there and taht's the perfect night to me.
But sometimes comfortable isn't a good thing. God challenges us through the Bible and through a lot of circumstances to step out of our comfort zone. He challenges us not to lead a comfortable life but to lead the right life that He's calling us to. Sometimes that means making the un-popular desicion. Or maybe taking a stand when you'd rather be quiet. Mostly for me that means taking steps of trust and faith in God when nothing about those steps makes sense.
Trust or Comfort. It's nice when we can have both together. But sometimes we have to choose between the two.
What's your idea of a comfortable evening? Is there a comfy something in your life that God is asking you to give up to trust Him more?
