Love the Lord your God with all your Soul

Last week I had the privilege of preaching to our youth group in a series called Epic Faith. Each week a different adult leader has a chance to share part of their testimony based on:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength"Matt. 22:27

I had the joy of teaching on loving God will all of your soul.

Love God with all of your soul, what does that look like? I found in my own life that sometimes it looks like remembering that God is the one who created me and that:
Psalm 139:13 is true, which says “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Sometimes it looks like removing the things in our life that we are dedicating our Soul and all of our attention to such as: relationships, other religions, things we look at or listen to that aren't good, etc.

Sometimes it looks like recognizing that there is not just an Earthly world but a Spiritual world too.

John 10:10 says “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” There is an enemy that tries to get us off track, to steal, kill, or destroy us but Jesus has come that we would have a real, true, and full life in Him.
But mostly it looks like remembering to open the correct door in our lives.
Revelation 3:20 that says “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
As you go through your week this week, remember to open up the right door in your life, the one that leads straight to Jesus. God has a plan and purpose for your life, and it doesn't involve you entangling yourself into things that will hurt you, it involves you loving Him and allowing Him to use you in your life.
