Additional Resources

  1. Great additional resources, I enjoyed learning more about the Box Top Collection. I never really knew exactly what they were other than knowing kids always collecting them. I also think that it's a great idea to have all different type of worksheets for children to paste their top box on to and they are learning at the same time.

    1. This was the first year I really saw the benefits of the box tops. Our class raised over $100 in box top money and we were able to get 2 soft chairs, a puzzle rack, and a tall dress up mirror for our class, all items we needed to meet our star requirements.

  2. Thanks for sharing the Box Tops website! That is one of our schools biggest fundraisers during the year. I'm always amazed at how much our little school can come up with! We always have a competition between the classes to motivate kids to bring them in. The winner gets a pizza and movie party! Have you seen or used any creative methods to encourage families to send in their box tops?

    1. I just stumbled on that website this week, when we were looking for a way to remind parents to collect over the summer. We ended up tweaking a summer sheet, one for June, July, and August that they can bring back with them on the first day of school. I love the competition idea!

  3. Hello Danielle!

I enjoyed looking at the PA Keys website. I am interested in how each state designs and creates their system for early childhood initiatives. Do you use this website often for resources? Is it something that parents typically use to learn about early childhood in PA?

    1. As a parent I never knew about the website. As a teacher we use the website a lot. It's where we keep track of all of our PD hours and can print certain certificates from there also. As an administrator I've used the website to find local trainings for our teachers and gain some ideas we can use as a school.
